Our stainless-steel service ranges from bar to mesh. We have a comprehensive stock of Grade 304 (1.4301) stainless steel reinforcing bar ranging from 6mmn to 25mm with far superior structural integrity due to its higher corrosion resistance, it offers a longer design life than standard carbon steel and requires less maintenance.

Our hot-dip galvanising service is strictly in accordance with BS EN ISO 1461:2009 and under the control of ISO 9001. Double dip galvanising up to 140 microns is also available on request. We offer this service for mesh, bar and structural steel.

Description

Stainless steel & galvanised reinforcement is fast becoming a popular choice for contractors across the UK. With far superior structural integrity due to its higher corrosion resistance, it offers a longer design life than standard carbon steel and requires less maintenance.

Stainless Steel & Galvanised Reinforcement

Why use stainless steel & galvanised reinforcement?

The structural integrity of concrete is determined by the durability of the reinforcement. Unlike traditional carbon steel, stainless steel and galvanised reinforcement offers a far more superior level of protection against corrosive elements. Although the initial costs are higher than standard carbon steel, over the design life a structure’s final costs may be significantly reduced and prove to be a more cost effective solution.

Benefits Include:

  • 100% recyclable material
  • Significant reduction in repair / maintenance costs
  • Ideal for coastal reinforcement
  • Strength/ Duration
  • Hygienic purposes
  • Value for Money

Stainless Steel Reinforcement | Grade 304 | Grade 316 |

Devoran Metals supply both grade 304 (18% chromium /8% nickel) and grade 316 (16% chromium/10% nickel/2% molybdenum) high yield ribbed stainless steel. Diameters are available from 6mm up to 32mm. Grade 304 is generally used in most applications, whereas grade 316 is more specifically used in coastal or marine applications. Due to the added compound molybdenum, 316 stainless steels has a much higher resistance against chlorides such as salt water.
All grades are supplied cut and bent to order, or in 3m or 6m stock lengths.

Galvanised Steel Bar

Hot dip galvanising forms a protective layer of zinc over the reinforcing bar, increasing the chloride threshold and resisting lowering PH levels, making it far less susceptible to corrosion therefore prolonging the life of the steel for up to 20 years. Devoran Metals supply hot dip galvanising strictly in accordance with BS EN ISO 1461:2009 and under the control of ISO 9001. Double dip galvanising up to 140 microns is also available on request.
8mm galvanised reinforcing bar is kept in stock, all other diameters are available to order. Please contact our sales office for current lead times.
